BHOPAL. Rapid technological advancement and the rise of social media have expanded the horizon of journalism and public relations, opening fresh pathways for career growth and digital self-employment. Senior journalist and PR expert Hitesh Kushwaha highlighted this shift during an interactive session titled ‘Career Opportunities in Journalism and PR’ held at Government Sandipani Higher Secondary School, Nishatpura. Organized on Teacher’s Day by the Pushpendra Pal Singh Foundation to commemorate late veteran media educator Pushpendra Pal Singh (PP Sir), the event saw enthusiastic participation from more than 350 students from classes 11 and 12. Addressing the gathering, Kushwaha stressed that journalism carries a profound social responsibility. He advised students that modern media roles go well beyond traditional print and broadcast platforms.

“Young aspirants today must develop a strong grasp of digital content, video storytelling, social media strategies, and mobile journalism,” he noted, urging students to prioritize skill development and continuous learning over just seeking traditional jobs.

The event featured an interactive Q&A where students gained clarity on media careers, modern skill requirements, and evolving industry trends. To mark Teacher’s Day, the foundation felicitated five school educators—Kanti Jain, Ankush Verma, Manoj Kumari Mishra, Sandhya Adlak, and Rashida Begum—for their outstanding service to education. School Principal R.C. Jain accepted a special commemorative memento and commended the foundation for empowering students and honoring teachers. The program commenced with a tree-plantation drive paying tribute to PP Sir.
